Striker Ryan Seal and manager Jimmy Ginnelly spoke to us after the 5-2 victory against Hinckley AFC on Tuesday.

Speaking to us immediately afterwards, Ginnelly gave us his thoughts on the game. "A great little local derby for everybody. I thought it was end-to-end first half. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. Nice couple of goals for either side and I think (Carl?) will be happy with the run-out his side have had.

"I'm certainly happy, because we're getting closer and closer. Our lads look a little bit tired but we still need to play games. We can either train or play games. To win 5-2, I'm always happy."

The boss also spoke about the trialists he's been casting his eye over during the summer. "Five or six of the trialists got told yesterday, thanks for your time and effort. The chairman always asks me to cut the squad down to 20-22 players. We've got 17 or 18 around us, with three still to sort out. The lads that have been in, I'm in the process of trying to sort them out with a club. It's getting harder and harder. Every day, somebody else comes on the phone. Everybody knows Jimmy Ginnelly at this level of football, and will see if they can get a trial right up until the start of the season. You'll probably see a new face appear next week!

"The lads that are actually coming in now are at Northern Premier League level. I can't turn them down. I've got to get them in and have a look at what their fitness and form is like."

Attention then turned to the club's goalkeepers, who all got around 30 minutes on Tuesday evening.

"Liam Castle will be my number one. Max (Smith-Varnam) will be my number two and Mikey (Turner) will be my back-up goalkeeper. The near future plan is to get one of the lads out on loan. I'll speak to two of them and ask them what they want to do. Do they want to stay around and be a sub goalkeeper, or do they want to go out and get minutes learning their trade in men's football somewhere? I'll be dealing with that this week."

Heading into Saturday's friendly against Bedworth, Jimmy said: "Unfortunately, we never seem to be at full strength. We've got a few missing again on Saturday. I used to beat myself up that I hadn't got my full side out in the last couple of friendlies. But again, if we're going to have to use a 20-man squad, we'll use whoever's available and get a good workout. I've heard that Bedworth are doing very well at the moment.

Ginnelly has used several different formations across the last three friendlies, and was asking if he will be settling on one of them heading into the new season.

"The Northern Premier won't allow you to settle on one formation. People are too clever, managers are too wise. We've all got good contacts, all around the country. We'll all be speaking to different managers who have recently played against our next opponents. We'll be picking their brains about the games they've watched. I'll never settle on a pattern, anyway. I do like 4-4-2 and 4-3-3, but I'll try anything. Whatever I have to play on the day. I've put a good squad together and I think they can play three or four different formations."

We'll hear more from Jimmy Ginnelly on the club website later today, as he tells fans what they can expect from the season ahead and gives details on opportunities for fans to sponsor players for the season ahead.
