“I would like to thank Carl Heeley and Matt Gardiner for agreeing to bring a very strong side over to Kirkby Road and I see this as one of the toughest tests we will have this pre-season.

“They are a big non league club doing very well in the league above us so it is down to the nitty gritty part of a manager’s job, trying to put out their full side out now in preparation for the big kick off.

“I’m sure Carl and Matt have worked their players' socks off with some very heavy fitness and running work, worked on a bit of shape and got the boys ready so let’s hope for a very good game and a good few beers in the club afterwards.”
