Loughborough Dynamo 4 Barwell 3
Former Canaries on show as Loughborough brush away Barwell
Two early strikes from the home side had Barwell reeling but they responded with two goals of their own in the first half.
A spectacular third from captain Scott Hadland was not enough to take the match however as Loughborough came through with two more of their own.
Former Barwell players were abundant in the Dynamo side and as early as the sixth minute David Blenkinsopp had slid in to bag the first from close range.
A minute later, Matt Langham had doubled the home tally to leave the visitors reeling.
Barwell came into the game and pressed for their first which came after 20 minutes with Richard Lavery sliding the ball into the net from a Tom Bates cross.
Kev Charley doubles the tally a minute later as his drive was too good for Kaiser Mann-Khlur in the home goal.
But Barwell were again caught out on the half hour when Blenkinsopp, who had a point to prove against his former club, again slotted the ball past Liam Castle to give the home side the lead at the break.
Loughborough went further ahead after 56 minutes with Scott Mooney latching onto a ball from the right to finish neatly past Castle.
The best goal of the game came with 68 minutes played as Scott Hadland flung himself dramatically at a Tom Bates cross to place a bullet header past the home keeper.
There were no further goals and bragging rights on this occasion fell to Loughborough.
