REPORT | Rushall Olympic 1-1 Barwell
A Kyle Perry penalty rescued a point for The Canaries at Rushall on Tuesday evening.
The game got off to a scrappy start, with Barwell edging the game slightly. Set pieces and harmless efforts gave us little to write about, until the 28th minute when Rushall striker Andre Landell's deft finish past Max Smith-Varnam put the hosts into the lead.
Rushall's best chance of the game didn't come until the 68th minute, when Dom Dell's shot beat Smith-Varnam but also, fortunately for Barwell, the post.
Owen Story's desire to get into the box was rewarded on 82 minutes, when he was fouled by Joe Hull and the referee pointed to the spot. Kyle Perry stepped up to smash the ball into the top corner to give his side an equaliser.
After 95 minutes, a confrontation between Wes Atkinson and Matt Stenson led to a red card for both men - a disappointing end to the match.
Barwell: Smith-Varnam; Kay, Stanley, Townsend (c), Nisevic; Whitmore, Heath, Julien, Story; Perry, Stenson.
