REPORT | Barwell 0-1 Kettering Town
Barwell surrendered their unbeaten start to the season against league leaders Kettering Town yesterday (Saturday).
The game got off to a sensationally fiesty start, with Lindon Meikle being shown a red card in less than two minutes for a physical altercation on the far side.
Just four minutes later, Barwell were also down to ten minute after left back Eddy Nisevic was dismissed for a foul on the edge of the area. The opening minutes set the tone for the game in sensational fashion.
Kettering dominated the first half, with Barwell's only response being a ocuple of long balls that were well collected by Liam Castle.
Barwell had their best chance on 35 minutes when Owen Story got on the end of a through ball and fired straight at the goalkeeper. The visitors responding instantly, flying up the other end and creating a chance for Marcus Kelly to fire home from close range. Durrell Berry and Rhys Hoeness both missed chances to double their lead before the break.
Just before the hour mark, Barwell had a fantastic chance to draw level, but three players could not convert their rushed chances inside the area.
The visitors did superbly well to retain their lead with clever play both in and out of possession. Marcus Law's men were the best team on the day and were well deserving of their victory.
