REPORT | Lowestoft Town 0-0 Barwell
Barwell were unlucky not to return from the east coast with three points.
The visitors made a great start, with Massiah McDonald causing trouble on the left wing.
Lowestoft struggled to find a reply and were put under more pressure when Liam Canavan fired a shot at the goalkeeper from distance and McDonald failed to generate enough power on his header to trouble Elvijs Putnins.
Armani Schaar then pulled a shot wide for Lowestoft in their best chance of the half.
Jimmy Ginnelly’s men piled on the pressure and Jahvan Davidson-Miller went close, only for the linesman’s flag to go up after some more fantastic play.
Barwell went off the boil towards the end of the first half, but the home team were unable to take advantage.
More chances flew the Canaries’ way as Alex Tomkinson shot wide, before Rob Morgan headed Eliot Putman’s cross wide.
Massiah McDonald whips in a great cross for Jahvan Davidson-Miller, who can’t get a good connection. The latter then burst forward and crashed the ball against the post minutes later.
Kieran Higgs was Lowestoft’s biggest threat in the second half, running at the Barwell defence and striking a couple of efforts over the bar.
Barwell substitute Brady Hickey was then curled a free kick over the bar, before Liam Castle saved their blushes with a stunning stop two minutes from time.
