Barwell 0 Witton Albion 2
Determined Albion Overpower Canaries and Secure Position
Witton Albion gained the points necessary to assure their League status with a fairly comfortable win over Barwell who had done the same in their last match.
Witton opened the scoring after seven minutes as the Barwell defence failed to clear and Scott Bakkor placed the ball beyond Liam Castle at his near post.
The away side should have gone further ahead when Alex Titchiner flicked the ball goalwards over Castle but Jamie Hood leapt at the ball to head off the line.
Witton continued to press and Bakkor was denied by an excellent save from Castle, bravely diving at his feet.
A foul by Guy Hadland on Titchiner, 18 yards out, which Joshua Hancock blasted through the wall was palmed onto the post by Castle. Shortly after Kieron Brehon drew a good save from Witton keeper, Matt Cooper.
Just before the break a combination between Brehon and Nigel Julien was kept out by good keeping again by Cooper.
With fifteen minutes remaining a ball played across the Witton area fell to Kev Charley who turned and fired wide. Two minutes later, Albion doubled their lead when Daniel Andrews fired home from close range.
Late on a Luke Barlone free kick took a deflection and was again well dealt with by Cooper.
