Basildon U15's find the going tuff.
Basildon U15's played Southend this week in the league.
Southend played the game with only 14 players but gave Basildon a real scare.
As usual Basildon were slow off the mark and Southend capitalised and scored twice in the first half before Basildons forward got to grips with the game.Five minuets before the end of the first half the forwards came to life and drove at Southend and John Luke Jousiffe crashed through the Southend defence to score.(converted by Callum Ainslie).
At half time it was Southend 10 Basildon 7.
Sraight from the kick off Southend attacked and scored a well worked try.Basildon had to dig Deep and they did working there way back into the Southend half. A lovely pass from Callum Ainslie set Kyle Mclaughlin free to scorein the corner.9 Converted again by Callum Ainslie).
Basildons forwards came forward again this time Tom Barnet picked up the ball from a ruck and sliced the Southend defence in half to score under the post. Basildon were in front at last,but Southend weren't finished they pushed Basildon into there own 22 and from a scrum managed to score.
With only 6 minuets left Southend were 22 -19 in front.
Basildon kicked off and pressurised Southend gaining control of the ball Southend got the ball back but knocked on Giving Basildon the scrum.
Basildon went blind and quick feet from Kyle Mclaughlin saw him go over the line for a try.
The game finished Southend 22 Basildon 24.
Man off the match was split between Callum Ainslie for the backs and Aaron Saunders for the forwards.

steve waters - over 2 years agoAs far as im concerned Rugby is all about fair play and the Southend boy deserved all the credit they could get they played exceptionally well.
