A pleasing result although it was another loss. Six or seven weeks ago Basildon U16 were thrashed 82-5 by a strong Woodford side. With another away game against a flying Woodford we hoped the hard work in recent training sessions would pay off and the way the game went it showes hard work in training does exactley that. A very aggresive game from the off by both sides, Woodford stricking first with a well worked phase of forward work realeasing their backes to score out wide . Bas dug deep not to let the home side gain to much confidance with the score. Half time approching saw Bas forwards driving through pick and go untill the backs got good ball with the best backs display of the day for Kyle Mclaughlin to swallow dive out wide to make the score at the turn 5-5. Much of the same for the second half with frustration running through both sides. With just 5 min to go the score still even Bas made a couple of silly errors which with the help of some poor refereeing decisions let Woodford finish on top 17-5, a massive improvement on the previous fixture with the London side. Well done and a big pat on the back for the 16 Basildon players ,keep up the work and the results will come our way.
