What a dissapointing end to a game that started with so much promise!


Batley Boys were straight out of the blocks with a try in the opening stages scored by Top Tackling Max Clark who went over after possibly the pass of the season by Lucas Tomlinson who floated a great ball over the Keighley defence to create the opportunity. Another strong performance by Captain and Player of the Day Liam Metcalf who gave his all alongside Most Improved Tom Rhodes who between them gave 100% for the team. Cole Innes, Lily Clark, Harrison Headley, Joe Scott, Emma Manning, Shane Gaunt, Peter Lerums and Morgan Fowler Cox who all tried in vain in a game where the scoreline didnt do Batley justice.


All in all the Batley team need to take training nights into games as its like two different sets of players, with a bit more confidence and self belief Batley have the makings of a great team but unless they switch on soon its going to be a long hard season which would be a travesty with the players they possess.
