With very few games played in recent weeks and key matches to come, getting back to basics and maintaining a match tempo was the starting point. With a large and experienced squad the home team dominated possession and were 6 goals to the good before the break. Richard Gray opened the scoring, Pete Moisey, Steve Waters, Jon Green, mike Bradshaw netted and Matt Barber making his return after 15 years picked up where he left off.
Nomads strengthened at the break and the second half was a sterner test, not least because of the numerous rotations on pitch. Bourne Deepings domination continued and chances came and went. It was a moment of pure instinct that gave the home side their 7th goal - Steve Waters expertly turned in a deflected penalty corner strike. A disappointing goal conceded on a rare break from Nomads was not to detract from the overall performance and a trip to March next week sets up an intriguing run to the end of the season
