March Town 3 vs Bourne Deeping 4

by Stewart Dacre

March away is always a difficult fixture and this was filled with tension. It was played with full commitment with controversial goals and frustrating umpiring decisions. Having fallen behind by 2 goals and under great pressure the Dragons persisted though great work by Andrew McQuarrie on the right and were awarded a number of penalty corners. The overly sandy surface made the routines uncertain but the Dragons converted 3 to take a half time lead, McQuarrie a fortunate windfall and 2 finishes from Andrew Dodds. The well drilled March team used great movement to score early in the second half but Bourne Deeping were determined and scored from open play through Tim Keisel sliding the ball past a helpless March keeper . Unfortunately the home team were too strong and stretched into a lead which as the Dragons chased they extended and ran out comfortable winners in the end
