The best way to keep up to date with Beaconsfield RFC

Spring Tournament Great Success

5 years ago By Tony Rees

The annual spring festival was a roaring success on March 3rd . Visiting clubs benefited from dry weather all day to a welcome return to Spring Rugby

Clubs from Windsor , Amersham , Chess V, Chinnor ,Tring, Maindenhead, Fullers,Ealing ,Marlow and Richmond, turned up on the cold March morning to run off the frost and blow out those winter cobwebs .

Feed back from everyone has been very positive and the club cannot thank enough the hard work and dedication from every one who had a hand in making the sporting occasion the success it was.

From BBQ to Bivouac , Catering to carparking , Raffle to Rugby everything was run as smooth as clockwork .

Quotes from other Clubs . (and I'm sure their will be more )

"Please convey our thanks to all at Beaconsfield for a very well run Tournament" A and C

"Thanks Tony - we had a great day. Please pass on my thanks to the organizers, everything ran like clockwork. The new rules and ethos of participation went down a treat. Everyone went home happy." Richmond 8/9

"Thanks to you and your team for putting on a great event. We look forward to the next one!"

Chess Valley

Please pass on our thanks to everyone involved in the Tournament - we all had a fantastic time. Thank goodness the weather was kind this year!

"I wanted to say a huge thank you for providing an excellent days rugby for all the age groups.

I have had nothing but positive feedback from our coaches and I myself enjoyed the day enormously. My son who suffers from self-esteem issues and lacks confidence sometimes, never stopped smiling all day. The atmosphere was so welcoming and friendly and you even managed to sort out the weather this year!"

Thanks again

Chinnor RFC

Well done and congratulations to everybody.

Born in Windhoek; Tinus DuPlessis joined London Wasps on a short term deal mid-way through the 2011/12 season and was rewarded for his hard work in the black and gold shirt with a two year contract a few months later.
Du Plessis joined Wasps following an impressive 2011 World Cup campaign where he featured in all four games for his country, winning the Man of the Match award in the game against Wales.
The back-row also made three appearances for Namibia in the 2007 World Cup going on to represent his country at the Africa Cup in 2008 and 2009 and play a key role in qualification for the 2011 World Cup. The flanker won an IRB Nations Cup medal in 2010.
Tinus can play in all three backrow positions and has previous experience of English rugby after a stint with Rotherham, where he was awarded the club's player of the year in 2009.

We thank our Friends at London wasps for their support on the day .
