Beccs U9's Information
U9's rugby is classified as Mini Rugby.
Everyone is welcome to join the U9's regardless of skill, experience or gender!
To qualify for the U9's squad, you must be 8 years old at the beginning of the season (1st September) - this equates to being in School Year 4.
Play is regulated by RFU Regulation 15 (Age Grade Rugby, Guidelines and Appendix 1B).
Pitches : 60m x 35m +5m for ingoal areas.
Ball Size : 3.
Squad Size : 14 players.
Players on Pitch : 9 players; 3 Forwards and 6 Backs.
Max Single Fixture Duration : 15 mins each way.
Max Festival Fixture Duration : 6 mins each way.
Starts/Re-starts : Free Pass - Offside Line = 7 metres.
3-person uncontested Scrums - All binds around the waist - No unbinding/picking up ball - No push - No wheel - No strike - Opponent Offside Line = 5 metres from back foot of scrum - Winning Offside Line = back foot of scrum.
2-person uncontested Line-Outs - between 2 and 7 metre lines - Offside line = 7 metres from line of touch.
NO LOCKS.
NO NUMBER 8.
NO FLANKERS.
NO KICKING.
