Robbie Broadhurst WINNER of the Kent RFU "Womens" rugby. Andrew Munro RUNNER-UP for the "Junior" rugby volunteer of the year.

Beccs are very proud and delighted to announce that Robbie Broadhurst has WON the Kent Rugby Volunteer of the Year for Womens Rugby volunteer of the year. Andy Munro awarded runner up for his commitment to Junior Rugby by the Kent RFU Volunteer Awards for Season 2016-17. The awards were presented at a dinner on Wednesday 7 June 2017 at Shepherd Neame Old Brewery Store, Faversham, to celebrate the achievements of volunteers in the county.

Robbie has coached and led the Ladies team from 2013, the league champions in 2014/2015 and further recognition as the Beccehamian RFC Ladies were awarded Club Team of the Year for 2016/17. The squad numbers have risen over the years, and the Ladies hosted a very successful "pitch up & play" session in October 2016 attracting over 30 brand new players. This all after Robbie had already spent 12 years leading his own mini and junior age group from U7-U18 until 2012 !

Andy having jointly led his age group from U7s to U18s, enjoying overseeing the transition of 17 of the age group to now regularly playing senior rugby for the club. On top of this Andy has been junior fixtures secretary for the entire club for 6 years to date, and prior to that, minis fixtures secretary for 2 years.

Their recognition follows on from Anthony Kempster being shortlisted at the Kent 2015/16 Volunteer awards in the category of Mini-Rugby.

Beccehamian RFC would like to extend our considerable thanks to Robbie and Andy for their colossal commitment, dedication, hard work and hours put into the club, and continue to do so. Richly deserved recognition for their efforts over many, many, many years !

Club Chairman, Nick Brooks, has also been recognised and nominated for the inaugural England Rugby "Mitsubishi Motors Volunteer of the Year Awards". Nick has been invited to a local celebration event, one of 42 taking place around the country, to be held at Westcombe Park RFC on Friday 16 June 2017. We wish Nick well.

Thank you to all Beccs volunteers, in all your considerable guises, for the time, enthusiasm and energy with which you carry out your roles. Your rugby family couldn't be prouder, or more grateful ! Have a great day.
