Beccs first game in South East 3 for a number of years was eagerly anticipated by a large
crowd at Sparrows Den on Saturday. Visitors Bromley also brought a large number of
Beccs got off to a good start and when a Bromley kick was charged down just outside their
22 an exchange of passes resulted in Bobby Coles scoring a try. Alex Warsop kicked an easy
conversion to make it 7-0.
Beccs enjoyed a period of possession and were on top for the first 25 minutes and when the
ball was kicked through Pat Refell managed to hack on and score a try out wide. Alex Warsop
stepped up and surprised us by converting the try to make it 14-0.

For the rest of the first half Bromley were on top and exerted pressure in our half. Bromley
turned the ball over in our half and wing Alex Griffiths scored a try wide out. The conversion
was missed to make the half time score 14-5.
Bromley started the second half well and started to dominate possession. Eventually
Bromley scored a try just to thge left of the posts but they failed to kick the conversion
making the score 14-10.
Bromley continued to dominate possession and territory. Bromley kicked for the corner from
a penalty and drove the ball over the try line for another try to make it 14-15.
From another lineout Bromley tried a catch and drive but were stopped. They retained

There was just time for one more effort from Beccs and we were awarded a penalty for a
high tackle in the Bromley 22. From the tap penalty we were awarded another penalty for a
high tackle but this was reversed because one of our players retaliated.
