Carys Jenkins (daughter of Mr & Mrs Beddau RFC Gareth & Teresa) will be hosting a Charity Quiz night at the Clubhouse on Friday May 23rd.

Carys is going to Kenya on the 20th of June with a Charity called Moving Mountains. She will be working with street children, teaching, living and camping with them and helping re build the orphanage in the slumbs in Western Kenya.

She will be paying for her own flights but needs to raise over £1,000 for the charity and the materials needed for the trip. So to help the fundraising Carys has organised a pub quiz in aid of the charity on the 23rd of May at Beddau Rugby club.

To enter, you will need 5 in a team, there will be food in the break and the winning team will win a cash price and a bottle of wine. There will also be a raffle with some good prizes.

Description

Moving Mountains Trust is a registered charity in the UK, Ireland, Kenya and Nepal. Each country has its own team of Trustees and its own governing documents, but each organisation shares the same guiding principles and objectives.

Moving Mountains UK and Ireland provide strategic, managerial, financial and logistical support to our partners in Kenya, Nepal and Borneo to enable them to carry out the work on the ground alongside local communities and village development committees, schools and diverse social organisations.

Through the local knowledge and expertise of our Moving Mountains partner organisations we are able to ensure that investments in education, community infrastructure, social programmes, health, environmental projects and economic initiatives are carefully designed, targeted, monitored and evaluated and successfully contribute to achieving our objectives. All of our work is guided by principles of transparency, equality, integrity, respect, local ownership and fairness.

Moving Mountains was originally set up by Gavin Bate after years working in Kenya and East Africa, trekking and climbing in Nepal and more recently exploring the jungles of Borneo. The development strategy and the support of our partner organisation Adventure Alternaive, in place from the beginning, have been key to our success in supporting organisations and families in some of the most disadvantaged areas in the world.
