Downes and Richards appointed Senior Captains

Player-Coach Downes makes it a record four consecutive years as Club Captain, whilst James Richards returns to the role of Development XV captain after a season long lay off with a knee injury.

Team Manager Mal Davies congratulated the pair and said of Downes "It is a fantastic achievement for Rob. He is a natural leader and a player that everybody at this Club looks up to. He consistently performs and the Club are lucky to have a man of his ability at their disposal".

Development XV Director Freddy Phillips said of Richards appointment "There was a lot of strong candidates to lead our side this season, in particular Luke W Davies and Alun Evans who led the team so well in James absence last season. James is a natural leader, a true clubman and we are delighted he has returned after a nasty injury. With the help of people like Luke and Alun behind James we have leaders all over the field next season and look forward to another successful term".

Everybody at the Club are delighted with the appointments and wish them and their respective teams al the best for the new season.

The Youth XV are to make their appointment in the next few weeks prior to their first league games.
