There is an Easter break for many of our teams over the weekend but there are also huge fixtures for some.

The 1st XV continue to look at the great escape in the Swalec Championship as they plan to shock Cardiff Metropolitan at Cyncoed tomorrow (2,30pm).

The Students have enjoyed an excellent season and are always at the top of their game on hard grounds at their University base. Beddau though will be looking to piece together some of their big performances of late to make an 80 minute display that could shock the Students and really mix up the relegation spots.

In the game at Mount Pleasant Park back in December the Students returned from Mount Pleasant with a 26-6 success. The score line slightly flattered the Students but they were always in control.

Match referee is Mr Jon Hardy (Llanelli).

At the bottom of the Swalec Championship there are tough fixtures for all teams in the fight for survival. Bonymaen face a daunting journey to RGC 1404, Blackwood who thrashed Newbridge last week host Tata Steel whilst Newbridge themselves face a big derby game away at Pontypool Park.

The Development XV are without a scheduled league fixture this weekend as are the Youth XV who set off on their annual tour to Majorca tomorrow morning. We wish all those touring a safe and enjoyable trip.

There is action at Mount Pleasant tomorrow though as touch rugby makes it's first appearance. The WTA will host a mixed round robin tournament at the ground which will take place all day. Gates will open at 9.45am. This is a very entertaining sport and if any rugby enthusiasts can't make the trip to Cyncoed then it is hugely recommended that you cast your eye over this.

The Easter break signals a break for fixtures for our junior teams over the weekend. Many of the age groups will be preparing for their big end of season tours next week. There is some junior rugby action though on Bank Holiday Monday as our under 9s travel to Brecon to participate in their Annual tournament. Good luck to them, we hope they have a fun day out.

FOOTBALL
Cwm Welfare's huge end of season run continues tomorrow as they travel to Cogan Coronation (2pm). Cogan over the years have been a team difficult for Cwm to get points off but they travel there tomorrow determined for a result to keep them top of the table. If Cwm win this fixture along with their final league game at home to Pontlottyn on Wednesday they will be crowned South Wales Senior league champions and seal a play off game to get them promotion to the Welsh league. Good luck to Cwm.
