Some big games for our Senior teams this Saturday whilst our "Bulldogs" are also in for some exciting games on Sunday.

The 1st XV make the journey up to the Welfare Ground on Saturday to take on old rivals Gilfach Goch in another Swalec Division One East Central tie (2.30pm).

The Green and Golds will be looking for some kind of reaction after losing their 100% winnning record at home to Pencoed in the Swalec Plate last week. Coaches Davies and Daniels will be hoping that several players will also return after missing last weekends shock loss.

Gilfach will also be looking for a backlash after also suffering a defeat against lower opposition in the Plate last week. An injury plagued "Gowch" oufit was beaten 33-13 by Maesteg but will have several players back this weekend including former Beddau favourite Nathan Walters, who captains Gilfach in their 125th year. Gilfach are also coached this season by two former Beddau players Ashley Copic and Gareth Walters.

In the league this season Gilfach have recorded an excellent win at Ynysybwl and also defeated Llantrisant and claimed a home draw with Llantwit Fardre. But Beddau will be aware that the form book goes out of the window on Saturday and that the home side will love nothing more than to inflict the first league loss to their visitors.

Admission is £5.

The Development XV will also be in action against Gilfach Goch, with this game being played at Mount Pleasant Park with a 2.30pm kick off.

Gilfach's second string who are known as the Lions have been one of the best outfits in the Rhondda and East Glamorgan League over the last few seasons and will be a big test once again for the young Beddau outfit.

Other Rhondda & East Glamorgan Premier Division One Games this weekend -

Bargoed v Llantrisant
Dowlais v Builth Wells
Penallta v Senghenydd
Ystrad Rhondda v Cefn Coed

Down at Yorkdale there will be a massive local derby for the Youth as Pontypridd are the guests in a Blues BA league encounter (2.30pm).

Ponty have been in good form this season and have recorded two wins against Rumney and Glamorgan Wanderers and a narrow loss at Aberdare in their league programme.

The Young Green and Golds have yet to record a league win this season from their two games against Aberdare and the Wanderers but they will certainly be up for Saturday and a win would certainly kick start their season.

Cwm Welfare AFC
Cwm's 1st XI return to Welsh league Division Three action this Saturday with a trip to high flying Liswerry.
The hosts currently lie in 3rd spot in the league having only lost three times this season but Cwm will make the trip looking to get some points and climb from their current spot of 13th in the table.

The Reserve XI welcome West End to Mount Pleasant in a Welsh Reserve League West fixture.
West End have not had the best of starts to the season and currently sit at the foot of the league but Cwm know that means nothing in a very competitive league.

Plenty of action for everybody this weekend, so let's all get out and support our teams.
