All the action from around the club and community

There is plenty of sporting action around the Club this weekend.

Our Senior squad will make the shortest of trips to local neighbours Llantrisant in the second of their pre- season fixtures.

There were several positives from last weeks loss at Premiership outfit Bridgend and coaches Ben Daniels and Ross Johnson will welcome back several players as well as new combinations for this derby fixture.

The Black Army had quite a good season in Division Two East Central last season and will be hoping to push for promotion this season under the guidance of new head coach Gavin Groves.

Kick off at Cefn Manly is 2.30pm.

The Youth XV welcome Bridgend Sports to Mount Pleasant.

This will be both teams first pre-season games so will be looking to maximize use of their squads.

For coaches Daly, James and Kumar this is where the hard work comes to fruition and will hope the players come out of the blocks from the off.

Kick off is 2.30pm

FOOTBALL

Cwm Welfare will be hoping to bounce back from their big first day loss at home to Llantwit Major when they travel to Bridgend Street in a Welsh league division three fixture.

Bridgend Street are also pointless after they suffered a 3-2 defeat at Caerau Ely last week.

Match referee is Mr Robert Mealin and the game kicks off at 2.30pm.

DARTS

Our Friday night darts team will be continuing their quiet for another Pontyclun and District Darts league title this Friday as they travel to third place Ogmore B.

The teams met earlier in the season with Beddau winning 4-3. Beddau currently sit just a point ahead in the table over Ogmore A and will be keen to keep that lead and momentum going into the final weeks of the season.

LIVE SPORT

The new Premiership season is now underway and there will be live action at the Clubhouse on the many big screens and large TVs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Also on Saturday the Rugby Championship starts with Australia playing New Zealand and Argentina taking on South Africa.

ENTERTAINMENT

There is the usual Sunday afternoon entertainment with a top local artiste playing in the bar from 5.30pm.

Good luck to our sides this weekend
