The best way to keep up to date with Beddau Rugby Football Club

Weekend Preview / Under 16s final game together

6 years ago By Jamie Willis

With the 1st XV's league programme completed its just the Development and Youth teams in action this Saturday.

The Development team will continue to chase down Bridgend Athletic's 13 point lead at the top of the WRU 2nd XV League table as they travel to Pontypool United's home ground to take on Premiership oufit Pontypool's Development XV.

Beddau recorded a hard fought early season win over Pooler and will be looking for pretty much the same on Saturday. Julian Burnell and Garreg Jenkins' men have two other away games to play after this weekend at Bedwas and UWIC as they look for league glory.

The Youth XV have arranged a late friendly fixture with Tylorstown. The venue for this game is yet to be confirmed as the Mount Pleasant Park changing facilities could be utilised by the Bowls team this weekend. If this is the case then they will play the game at Yorkdale. Confirmation will appear on this website.

The Young Green & Golds have been in fine form since their end of season tour with victories over both Rumney and Llantrisant. Again the coaching team will be able to cast their eyes on players who will be involved in next seasons set up in the game against a strong Tigers outfit.

The Under sixteens play their final game in the junior section on Friday evening when they travel to local rivals Llantwit Fardre (7pm). This age group have been fantastic ambassadors for the Club for many years and are a credit to themselves and their families. A special mention must go out to all that have helped this team over the years in whatever capacity, without you this group would not have had the success that they have enjoyed. We look forward to welcoming them to the senior arm of the group and hope they enjoy themselves in the Youth set up as they have in the junior group.

The under 8s are the only junior team scheduled to play on Sunday as they travel to Abergavenny.

The lottery now takes a break till the season restarts on Saturday September 1st, 2012. Next jackpot £5300.
