A comprehensive 55-0 win over Kilburn Cosmos helps the U14 Bs maintain good league form.
The Bee’s got back to winning ways in the HM league with a convincing victory in north London. With the team wearing the new kit, the sun on their backs and Brodie playing at no. 8 all looked set for a good game of rugby, the boys did not let the travelling supporters down. Within three minutes Chris B set off on a strong run to score the first try and by half-time Bedford led 26-0, with Bradley, Ross and Donte adding tries.
In the second half Bedford used the slope well to run in five further tries. The pick was Aston’s first, this came from a Donte runn and offload to Ross, Ross made ground and then found Aston in support; Aston took the pass and strode over for the try. Aston, man of the match, scored again shortly afterwards with a fifty metre run outstripping the defence and scoring under the posts. Ben K, scored his second of the season, Kilburn kicked from deep in their 22 Ben watched the ball, caught it cleanly and before the defence could react ran past three of them to score. Bedford’s final try was scored by Brodie, who was playing at eight for the first time, to cap an impressive performance he picked the ball up from the scrum side stepped two players and touched the ball down, well done Brodie.
It was a good team performance against Kilburn Cosmos the tickling was stronger with Patrick D making some great hits and the backs’ passing was accurate and well timed. Other things of note were Ross’s run from his own half and just when the crowd thought he was clear a delicate ankle tap had him tumbling to the ground, however, he got up carried on running only to be caught feet from the try line. Roger H came on at half-time tackled well and drove forward with the ball making valuable yards; Keiron and Bradley linked well and supplied the centres with good ball.
Well done boys! We are still top of the league and our deciding match will be against Royston, another undefeated team, on April 1st.
