Exciting times lay ahead in 2016 as the club looks to expand in both directions of the age spectrum!!!

A hugely positive AGM has generated a lot of very exciting prospects for the Tigers Club this summer!

As always we will run from mid March until the end of August (unless we reach the Harry Jepson Trophy again!!!)

SENIOR SECTION

The first of the outcomes was the nomination of new captains at both 1st and 2nd team level.

Lee Walker has been voted in as the 1st team captain and I can tell you just by chatting to him how much the role means to him. We obviously thank outgoing captain Karl Siudak who will remain at the club as the powerful prop he is.

Shane "Guinness" Moulds will take up the reigns of the 2nd team as they embark on the reserve grade league. Guinness has been at the club since its inception in 2004 and has featured every season in at least one 1st team game!

He will be supported in his role by Stuart Jordan and his brother Michael as Vice Captains.

MASTERS

With a couple of local(ish) clubs looking to form Masters teams Phil Walker has taken the role of spear heading a Tigers Masters side which will allow over 35s, who thought they could no longer compete, the opportunity to pull on their boots again!

This will also tie in with the second annual Tigers Legends game where former players are invited back to make an invitational XIII and play our current second team!

JUNIORS SECTION

U16s
Phil Walker will also take last years U15s and get some game time against various local opposition which will be a great progression and the first time the club will have maintained a Junior age group!

U14s
Headed by Richy Sinclair, the new U14s side will compete in a newly formed East RL U14s competition against local sides from MK, Hemel, St Albans and potentially St Ives too!

Minis
The Club is currently in talks with Rugby Tots to bring their minis sessions to Putnoe Woods for the Summer which will help to expose more kids than ever before to rugby league!

SCHOOLS PROGRAMME

On top of everything else the Tigers are preparing to set up in local schools at both year 5 and year 7 levels. The programme will lead to player participation hitting record numbers in Bedford in 2016!

We also welcome Tracey Robertson to the club's committee as our new treasurer!

If you would like to get involved with and join the club in any capacity then please don't hesitate to drop us a message!!!
