Poor start highlights work needed in Tigers camp

It was always going to be a tough start to the 2015 season facing the reigning champions but after a positive preseason the opening 20 minutes were disappointing to say the least.

at 22-0 down after the first quarter of the game and with very little in the way of quality possession the Tigers finally seemed to realise that the season was underway and once they started to keep hold of the ball, actually started to ask some questions of the Roosters. Jack Peachey opened the Tigers account for the year, chasing a Lee Walker grubber kick to touch down before Khrys Speed quickly double up with an astonishing solo effort.

After the break the game seemed typical of Rooster/Tigers clashes of the past. Plenty of big hits, physicality and niggle from both sides but good rugby on display. The Roosters, in truth, never really looked out of control and posted a further 3 tries to the Tigers 2 and left the Tigers with a lot of improving to do before they face North Herts Crusaders in a weeks time.
