Many grassroots clubs over the country will be asking for volunteers to give up some of their precious time during the close season to help with the maintenance and upkeep of their grounds.
Bedford Town is no different. Our annual working weekend is on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May.
There will be all kinds of general maintenance jobs to do around the ground, including removing moss, which as you know, is very slippy in wet weather, and would be classed as a health & safety hazard. all the line markings around the ground (not the pitch) will have to be freshened up, as during a season, they fade. Other cleaning jobs will have to be done.
It doesn't matter if you only have 30 minutes to spare or do both days, every job every volunteer does will be vital to the smooth running of the club.
There's no need to get in touch, although you can if you want. just turn up Saturday, Sunday or both days (from 9am).
On Saturday, the bar in the clubhouse will be open from 5pm, and the FA Cup Final will be shown on the big screen as well. Worried about food? Don't worry. Food will be provided by the Supporters Club.
