The World Cup hasn’t even finished yet, but Craig Adams and his team have been hard at work preparing for the coming season.

With three training sessions under the belt already, it is time to see the new Eagles in action. The first opportunity for this is Saturday’s away fixture at Bugbrooke St Michaels Football Club.

So what do we know about Bugbrooke? In truth, not a lot. However, our information is that it is a well run, local football club that has a family feel about it. Despite the lower league impression of the club, the organisation has been very clear with opposing officials inviting all players, supporters and officials of the Eagles to stay behind and enjoy a beer, food and the 5pm World Cup quarter final. The United Counties Division One side finished last season in 18th place with 13 wins from the 42 games.

Craig Adams has made no secret of his intensions of this game. He will use it to assess those players who need game time to impress him. Adams is aware of the areas that still need adding to and this first fixture will enable him to start to do this. The Eagles main man stated last night “We will be looking at several players and it will also be a good chance for the lads who have already committed to pull on the Bedford shirt and show what they have to offer. Hopefully a number of our supporters will make the journey and get the campaign off to a good start.”

Admission to the game is £3 for all spectators, regardless of age. Directions to the ground can be found below. There are no coaches organised to the preseason friendlies and a further statement about away travel will follow once the fixture list has been released.
