After today's win at Leighton Town, Bedford need just 1 more point to reach last season's final tally.
Tom Liversedge continued where he left off on Tuesday night by scoring from the penalty spot after Russell Bull had been fouled in the area.
Leighton equalised just after the hour. Stuart Smeathers, in trying to defend an awkward cross into the area, could only direct the ball into his own net.
The winner came with 3 minutes remaining, and Tom claimed his 5th goal in 2 games getting onto the end of a Josh Winters cross.
The win puts Bedford onto 23 points, and 18th.
