Eagles win race to Ben's signature.

Bedford Town FC is pleased to announce the signing of Ben Ford from AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
Manager Jon Taylor said, "As soon as I heard from my right hand man, Nathan Abbey, that Ben was available to sign, it was a case of needing to get him to pen to paper as soon as possible, as other clubs in the Bedford/Kempston area were vying for him. We know Ben has made the right decision in joining us, and he will prove to be an integral piece in the squad jigsaw. Ben's best position is in the centre of the park, and his awareness allows him to put in a pass that little bit earlier.
He has a natural technique, and will be able to dictate in the middle of the park.
Ben can also fill in at left back. I think he is a great signing for us, and I am extremely pleased he has chosen the Eagles."

In conversation with Jon and Nathan, Ben said, "I knew that Bedford would be the right place for me to come and play my football. The ambition of Jon, the management, and the players to win the league was so apparent, and it made me want to be a part of it, so I jumped at the chance.

Ben played was at AFCR&D for two seasons, and played 28 games for them last year in their championship season. Ben has experience in the Conference divisions, as well as the Evo-Stik Premier with Nuneaton Borough, Kettering Town and Chesham United. Ben was also in the Rushden & Diamonds youth set up.

With the addition of Ben, we have had two departures. Macauley Keating and the club have mutually terminated his contract, and Ollie Thorne has made the decision to leave the club because of work commitments. We want to thank Macauley and Ollie for their involvement in pre-season, and to wish them well for the future.
