Bedford Town Football Club would like to state their disappointment at the actions of some people in attendance at yesterday’s Kempston Rovers fixture. A small section of ‘fans’, who appeared to be supporting the Eagles, behaved in a manner the club do not find acceptable, nor reflective of the excellent level of support our fantastic fanbase show on a weekly basis. Despite the last minute nature of our defeat, the large majority of those representing the club conducted themselves in the correct sporting behaviour. It is of great disappointment that the minority have acted in such a provocative way.
The club do not condone the use of flares or other pyrotechnics at games, either at the Eyrie or away from home. The Management Committee of the club would like to urge anyone with information as to the events of yesterday to come forward to aid the ongoing investigation, which will involve Kempston Rovers, The FA and the local authorities. The Club will also be writing to Kempston Rovers to discuss the situation further.
