Eagles dominated this local derby but were nearly punished for missing chances.

Bedworth Eagles u13 dominated the game from the opening minute but struggled to find the final killer pass on occasions with a strong wind behind them. Eagles went close twice through Cameron Stokes and Liam Murphy until they took the lead in the tenth minute. A free kick from a wide right position was delivered with pace by Mackenzie Nixon, flying past everyone and into the bottom corner of the net. Eagles doubled their lead a minute later, Seb Bazan played a quick free kick to Murphy who ran on and slipped it past the out coming keeper. The Bedworth boys continued to dominate and could have added to their lead but chances from Kallan Burke and Connor Nicholson brought fine saves from the opposition keeper. They finally made it 3-0 after 17 minutes, a floated corner from Bazan saw Murphy and Nixon rise together with the latter heading into the Bulkington goal with power. Eagles had nearly all the play but couldn't find the final ball, with the wind picking up the half time whistle went.
The half time team talk was to keep it tight at the back, manage the wind, concentrate on our football and we could add to our first half tally. However, within 7 minutes of the restart Bulkington were 2 goals better off. the first came after a back pass was picked up, the resulting free kick saw a deflection wrong foot Callum Morris in the Eagles goal. The second, a mix up between defenders on the edge of the box saw them both leave it for each other. The Bulkington player nipping in to see his shot loop over the stranded Morris from a deflection and in off the crossbar.
Egles management team made some changes and soon it was the Bedworth side on top again. With the wind in their faces they were starting to find the final ball easier and Reece Clarke, Luke Tallis, Cameron Stokes and Kieran Bagshaw should have put the game beyond Bulkington. A rare counter attack from Bulkington saw a fine save from Morris, standing up well in a one on one situation. Brannon Mosey fed Clarke with the rebound and I turn set Nicholson on his way with a superb defence splitting pass. Nicholson made no mistake coolly finishing into the bottom corner, surely finishing off the opposition. Bulkington however weren't finished and scored 2 minutes later after the Eagles were punished for taking their foot off the gas. Great tackles from Luke Magee, Bradley Gibson-Hill and Luke Tallis thwarted an eager Bulkington side buoyed by their third goal. Jenson Steptoe made 2 good saves after replacing Morris in goal. Marcel Laws gave a steady performance in his comeback from a badly gashed knee but didn't last long before being replaced again still suffering from the affects of injury (skate parks arrrghhh).
Bradley Gibson-Hill was M.O.M with an outstanding display of strength and composure.
Team; Morris, Gibson-Hill, Bazan, Mosey; Magee, Clarke, Nixon, Nicholson; Burke; Murphy, Stokes. Subs; Laws, Bagshaw, Tallis, Steptoe.
