The Greenbacks face their third blank Saturday of the year after today's game was called off due to a frost-bound pitch at The Oval.

Bedworth-based Class 3 referee Rob Cairns carried out a 9 am inspection, and immediately ruled the pitch unfit.

Said club secretary Graham Bloxham: "It was really a foregone conclusion. There was so much frost in the pitch but full credit to our groundsman Mark Welsh who had created a really flat surface. Unfortunately, after six days of frost, the pitch was rock-hard."

The postponement means that the Greenbacks have played only three games since December 31st after games against St Neots (home - January 7th), Barton Rovers (away - January 14th) were also called off due to unfit pitches.

The Leighton game will now be rearranged for a Tuesday night later in the season.
