Boots for Africa
In conjunction with the Belper Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team and Sheffield FC, Belper Town Football Club have combined to form a partnership to support the hugely worthwhile Boots for Africa campaign.
The aim of the campaign nationally is to contribute thousands of pairs of football boots to the children of Africa, whilst the local aim is to collect as many pairs of boots as possible from the Belper area to help swell the number of boots that will be sent to African children.
Through a distribution network throughout Africa, the project has already arranged to send boots to communities in South Africa, Ethiopia, Ghana and Zambia.
Support, however large or small, can make a real difference. Any donated boots will be the first ever pair worn by these children and will offer a generation of young people affected by poverty, poor health and lack of opportunity a new sense of hope, pride and ambition for themselves and for their country.
Anyone wishing to donate a pair of boots should ensure they are clean and tied together and the size of boots written on a label. Simply bring your boots to the Belper Town FC ground at Christchurch Meadow.
