Manager, Jimmy Albans has been busy in the player transfer market as he attempts to strengthen his squad before tomorrow’s local derby against Buxton.

With recent signing, Paul Grimes likely to be out of action for two to three weeks with a hamstring strain and doubts over skipper, Phil Watt and Jason Stokes, Albans has had to work quickly to bolster his depleted squad.

Arriving at the Marston’s Stadium are Nabil Shariff, a striker who has joined the club from Stamford and Kern Miller, an experienced defender who has also made the journey from Lincolnshire, courtesy of a move from Holbeach United

Originating from Milton Keynes, 22-year-old Shariff (pictured) graduated from the Rushden & Diamonds youth scheme into the first team squad, where he made his senior debut aged 16.

During his time with the Diamonds he had two short loan spells with Banbury United before a longer loan with Nuneaton in November 2010.

Nabil made a permanent move to Tamworth for the 2011/12 season but further loan spells followed, this time with Hemel Hempstead, Kettering and Banbury United. He made the permanent move to Corby Town at the start of the 2013/4 season opting to join Stamford in November 2103.

Miller was a product of the Lincoln City youth team, making a single first team during the 2008/09 season. At the end of his scholarship he agreed a six-month professional contract with the club but he was eventually released from Sincil Bank and signed professionally for Barnsley.

In 2011, he signed a loan deal with Accrington Stanley, making his debut against Northampton Town and made 3 appearances for the Cobblers.

On his release from Stanley, Kern joined Hereford United on another loan deal but failed to make an impression at Edgar Street, moving into non-league by joined Gainsborough Trinity. Whilst at Trinity, he had a loan spell with Worksop Town before joining Boston United on a one-year contract.

Despite starting the Pilgrims’ first six games, he was released by the club due to budget constraints and joined former loan club, Worksop Town.

He originally agreed terms to remain at Worksop for the 2013/14 season but in September 2013 Kern was snapped up by Grantham Town and later joined Holbeach United.

We welcome both players to the club.
