25-year old Tom Burgin is the latest recruit to the Belper Town ranks, after the central defender signed for the Nailers from Scarborough Athletic.

Burgin is a tall and dominant central defender who started his career at Rotherham United

He has also played for Sollefteå GIF in the Swedish second division, where his 18-month career was interrupted due to a broken leg.

Following his return to the UK at the start of the 2013/14 season, he joined Sheffield FC where he soon established himself in the heart of their defence and was a star performer for them.

His performances at the world’s first club attracted the attention of Worksop Town, to whom he joined in January 2014.

Tom opted to move to Scarborough Athletic at the start of the current season but found the travelling too onerous and decided on a switch to the Nailers, who reacted quickly once his availability became known.
