The Nailers have made two transfer deadline day signings, with former striker Evan Garnett making a surprise return to the Marston’s Stadium

Evan (pictured) left the Nailers and joined Ilkeston FC in early November, playing as a substitute for the Robins when the Nailers last faced their Derbyshire rivals in a league fixture on Boxing Day..

Evan spent most of his formative years excelling in the Nailers junior teams before his ability caught the eye of Burton Albion and he joined the Brewers as a trainee in August 2011 where he graduated through their youth and reserves ranks to earn a professional contract for the 2012/13 season.

During his time with the Brewers he had a 3-month loan spell at Hucknall Town but with his contract not being renewed at the Pirelli Stadium, Evan made a move to Worksop Town in January 2014 but rejoined the Nailers in July 2014.

Manager Jimmy Albans has also added 18-year-old, Lynton Karkach to his squad after the young player’s arrival at the Marston’s Stadium from Gainsborough Trinity.

Lynton is a pacy striker whose arrival at the club should allow the Lincoln-born forward the opportunity to get some games under his belt after being used predominantly by Trinity as a substitute in their Conference North campaign.

He has made seven full appearances for Trinity since emerging from their youth system, scoring once against Boston United.
