Belper Town boss Jon Froggatt says he is now happy with his squad after making some key additions.

Defenders Phil Watt (pictured) and Richard Adams have both returned to the club since Froggatt was appointed full-time successor to Peter Duffield.

Midfielder Michael Towey and winger Ashley Burbeary have also joined the club, along with on-loan Accrington defender Liam Goulding.

“I’m happy with the squad now,” said Froggatt, whose side currently lie bottom of the Evo-Stik League Premier Division.

“We’ve strengthened where we think we needed to and we’ve got quality in – players who have been there and done it all before.

“I’m hoping they will have enough about them to help us get out of the position we’re in.

“There’s more competition for places now, which is good.

“I don’t think we need to bring anyone else in.”

Froggatt was delighted to secure the return of Watt, who helped Belper to promotion last season, scoring the winner against Mickleover Sports in the play-off final.

“Getting Phil back is a massive boost,” added the player-manager.

“I played with him last season and when he left I knew it would be a big loss. He’s well thought of at Belper and the board have been fantastic in helping to bring him back. He’s a quality player.”

Watt is suspended for tomorrow’s long trip to Workington, having picked up five bookings for previous club Grantham Town this season.

Adams (groin) is an injury doubt but captain Steve Warne (hamstring) and Froggatt himself (neck) could return.
