Good times ahead

Belper Town Football Club have acquired a new timepiece at their Christchurch Meadow ground thanks to world renowned local clockmaker, Smith of Derby.

Funding for the new clock came from the Belper Town FC Operations Committee, the prime matchday fundraisers for the club.

 

The clock was fitted to the Reg Walker stand by Smith of Derby engineer, Kevin Allen, aided by young son Tom.

Kevin is also a member of the Club's Operations Committee and he designed and built the unique timepiece.

Unfortunately, the match against Kidsgrove Athletic was postponed due to a frozen pitch but there are plans to officially unveil the clock at a forthcoming home game.

The photo below shows Kevin Allen with son Tom after completing the installation of the clock. The installation work was also undertaken by BTFC director, Andy Carter, of local electrical company, A.Carter Electrical

 

Where next?

'Purito' says goodbye Belper Town suffered their first home postponement of the season when last Saturday’s game against Kidsgrove fell victim to the freezing conditions.
Duffield is hoping to reverse home form Belper Town have another chance to turn around their home form tomorrow when the Nailers play the second of five consecutive matches at Christchurch Meadow, against Kidsgrove Athletic.
