Nailers reserves clinch third place
Belper came into this game knowing that a win would secure third place in the league and they didn't disappoint as they came away with all three points, and with some room to spare.
A heavy downpour before the game and a stiff breeze made conditions difficult for both sides, but it was Prims that took the lead on ten minutes. Belper thought they had cleared their lines, but only to see the ball rifled goal bound by Prims' Louis Mundin.
The Nailers were not perturbed by going behind and played some sparkling football for the rest of the half. Sam Vickers looked particularly dangerous down the left wing, with Prims full back struggling to cope with his pace and trickery.
Although the Nailers missed some good chances, it was no surprise when the equaliser came as some good interplay ended with Ben Gowing bursting into the box and slotting home with his right foot.
As half time approached, Belper were awarded a free kick outside the box and Ashley Hunter's delightful delivery fell to Cameron Martin, who made no mistake from ten yards.
The Nailers continued to dominate in the second half and deservedly extended their lead. A ball terrific through to Martin saw him use his pace and power to shrug off the defender and give the 'keeper no chance with a cool finish.
Belper had further chances to improve their lead as Martin, Hunter and Parkin all went close, but just as pleasing was the second half clean sheet they kept, with Ashley Worthington particularly dominant at the heart of the defence.
Team: Hopkins, Crossley, Rushby, Parkin, Worthington, Robinson, Selvam (Wheatcroft 71), Gowing, Martin, Hunter (Baker 74), Vickers (Holder 78)
