20 SECOND GOAL SETS UP WIN AND MOVE TO TOP SPOT.

Paul Postlethwaite said, " I was very pleased with the effort and performance against one of the League leading sides. Although again having to make changes the lads produced an excellent result"

Belper United visited Clay Cross Town who had moved from the League North Division this season.
The game started at an express pace and put Belper in the lead when Scott Slater powered the ball into the net from close range flowing an attack straight from the kick off.
This was followed by a goal from Sam Vickers after two minutes when he attacked down the left wing cut into the penalty area and drove the ball hard along the goal line to be deflected into the net.
The early excitement settled down with some good football played by both sides. Lewis Bamford made one excellent but without further serious threat No further goals were scored before half time..
Belper United had the better of the second half and had a penalty kick well saved by Clay Cross keeper. The final goal came with 15 minutes left. A free kick from 20 yards set up by Joe Conkleton but hit by Sam Vickers saw the ball scream into the net.
This win moved Belper United to the top of League.
