The man, the myth, the legend. Mitchy is a one man cabaret show, whether running under catches, inventing new shots such as the infamous "sweep defence" or simply standing in the middle of the pitch with his hands on his hips looking as though the world has turned its back on him. Induces more play and misses over a season than you've had hot dinners, when on song his silky swingers are mesmeric. Bowls pretty well sometimes too (I'm so sorry). Tends to run through a side a couple of times a season, suspicions have grown that during a heatwave he will creep up to the club at 2AM to leave the hose on for 5 minutes to achieve his elixir - lateral movement. Once had the tag as a bit of a choker with the bat, but recent late order cameos have proved vital in a number of wins when all those muppets above him have failed to do the job.

Describe yourself in one word.
Maturing

How long have you played for Bentley CC?
I have been going to Bentley since I was 6 months old but I have been playing since I was about 7 so not far off 30 years!

Fantasy tea (2 x sandwiches, 1 x savoury, 1 x cake, 1 x wildcard)
Egg Mayo, Cheese and onion, Warm sausage roll, Flapjack, Prawn cocktail crisps.

If you could share a century partnership with any cricketer from history, who would it be?
Probably KP, just sheer genius when in full flow or Ian Bell as at times makes the game look so easy.

What’s the best thing about playing for Bentley CC?
My teammates

Who would play you in a film of your life?
Matthew Perry

Whats your earliest memory of Bentley CC?
Watching my dad play, messing about in the nets and playing run outs after the adults had finished playing.

Whats the best shot you ever played?
Favourite shot would have to be hitting David Cole over the club house for 6 at Stock!

Whats the best ball?
Best ball would have to be bouncing out Andy Clarke ha ha.

The best thing I can cook is… chocolate fondant or lamb shank

Who do you travel to away games with and why?
Quite often it will be Loz..... as we live relatively close to each other.

What is the most romantic thing you have ever done?
Covered the whole flat where we used to live in candles ready for Jerri to come home to a meal made from scratch.

Three things you would take on a desert island (no smart answers like “a boat”!)
A Radio, a ball and a fishing rod.

How do you see the rest of your cricket career going?
At my age down hill.

Who wouldn’t Bentley CC be the same without, and why?
Tom Johnson, played together since we was colts so would be strange for him not to be there.

Tell us a joke
Teacher: "Kids, what does the chicken give you?"
Student: "Meat!"
Teacher: "Very good! Now what does the pig give you?"
Student: "Bacon!"
Teacher: "Great! And what does the fat cow give you?"
Student: "Homework!"

Which Bentley CC player would you want to bat for your life?
Stevie C, for his sheer defensive prowess.

Whats the funniest thing you have ever seen on a cricket field?
Probably watching Floody fielding the ball on the boundary. He got himself into the perfect position for a long barrier only for the ball to hit a bump in the field and bounce over his head to go for 4!!

What is your dream house?
Somewhere quiet with 5 bedrooms, Pool, indoor cricket net, tennis court and cinema room.

Where in the world would you love to play a cricket match and why?
Got to be at Lords in the UK. But abroad would be MCG just because of the sheer size of the place.

Whats your fancy dress costume of choice?
Not the biggest fan of fancy dress but I think my best outfit was being dressed up in Burlesque for my stag do!
