The Under 16's & 15's train on a Tuesday evening from 6.30-8pm. Parents can watch and enjoy the training or use the club house for a drink or two.
Message from Mark Doran U15/U16’s coach and Men’s 4th Team captain at the start of the 2016 season:
Another exciting season for Colts cricket at Bentley lies ahead.
This Summer will offer fantastic opportunities to play at U15 and U16 level, for both boys and girls.
Bentley CC also strongly encourages all Colts that are ready, from U13 level upwards, to get involved in Men’s cricket. Matches are played on Saturday afternoons and I have seen many Colts, as young as U13, really enjoy playing and by doing so, dramatically improve their game.
All of the Bentley Men’s first team, which won the T-Rippon Premier League last season, were originally Colts, and one of the players is actually still a Colt!!!
Please get in touch with me if your son or daughter would like to play Men’s cricket next season and we can discuss how it all works.
The U15’s have Central District league and cup cricket, and the National Cup starts with a first round match at home to Great Baddow on the 8th May. We don’t have a large group of players at this age group, so I hope to have a number of U13’s in the team. Those who I feel have the most chance of being selected will be invited to join in with U15/16 training, as the season progresses.
Training starts outdoors for the U15/U16’s on Tuesday 19th April 2016, from 6:30 until 8:00 pm and will continue every week right through to the end of August. I am a “Level 2 coach” and will be taking training along with Nigel Tegg who is an Essex Coach. He will be there every week, to ensure the boys and girls get the best coaching available.
The U16’s are entered into the “Trevor Bailey Matchplay” competition. This is an Essex wide competition which starts in July. We should have a strong team this year and are hoping to put in some good performances.
Make sure your son or daughter gets involved this Summer. Don’t let them miss out on the fun!
If you’re a Colt yourself, get your Parent or Guardian to get in touch with me
