We found it surprising that Berkhamsted (a town with a population of 20,000 and a town with such an interest in sport) didn’t have a rugby club. We’re proud to announce that now it does and that BRUFC will be entering the Herts and Middlesex Merit Tables for the first time in September 2013.

The new season is fast approaching and we want to spread the news and give everyone the opportunity to get involved in this exciting set-up. We will be putting out two senior teams (a 1st XV in Merit Table 6 and a 2ndXV that will play casual fixtures). Our current squad has a solid backbone of players who have played rugby together for some years at Hemel Camelot and we’re looking to add to this with players from the local community and indeed further afield.

We have been fortunate to secure top-class playing facilities and Club house. Our ground is located on the outskirts of Berkhamsted.

We train every Wednesday from 6.30-8.30 PM followed by drinks in the bar (and on most weeks a BBQ too).

Our club colours are navy blue and red. Berkhamsted Rugby Club welcomes players of all ages and abilities and we encourage people to come along to training and try their hand at the game. Training will be run by John Cockburn, experienced speed,conditioning and backline coach and will comprise of fitness, balls skills, drills, tag rugby, set-pieces and as the summer progresses, full contact rugby. Please note that RFU rules state that players must be 18 years of age in order to play in the front-row and at this level, we wouldn’t advise players under the age of 17 playing in league games.
