This year the £1000 charity donation was awarded to Radio Borders Cash for kids. Previous donations have gone to the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Fund at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, Air Ambulance, Talking Newspaper, Berwick Hospice, Grove School, Berwick Life boat and many more. During the lifetime of the lottery over £15,000 has been donated to causes with some connection to Berwick and the people of the Club. Once again we see Berwick Rugby Club supporting local charities through their own supporters’ generosity.

This year saw our poorest take up of lottery tickets since we started many years ago. This probably reflects the economic climate we are in but the lottery over the years has proved to be vitally important to the club’s finances allowing it to do developments without breaking into other sponsorship monies used for running the club. With this in mind please try to find £50 per annum to keep supporting a club which supports the town in various different ways.

As you all know this £50 can be paid by cheque or by standing order annually or quarterly giving you the chance of winning £500 or £200 monthly from September for eight draws culminating with the final draw at the 7’s of £1000 and £500 along with the presentation of a cheque for £1000 to a local charity.

If a number comes up which does not have a paid name allocated then the sum will be rolled over to the following month, this can last for 3 months and then we would have to keep drawing until a winner was found.

Anyone who does not have a ticket will be able to buy a ticket for £50 to enter into the rollover and obviously the rest of the season. The overall payout will therefore remain the same as in previous years.
By using standing order you can spread the payment whilst also saving our volunteers time in chasing money.

Perhaps you can also get a friend to buy one and help us that way or give one as a present, we still have tickets available.
