The boys lost 2-0 to the Peninsula Strikers but the score did not really reflect the overall game. PJ scored a goal but was called offside which was very unlucky. We had a few shots that we were unlucky not to be converted; this only reinforced what a very competitive game it was.

With the final team just being put together less than a week ago the boys did a fantastic job. For many it was their first competitive game, others it is trying to find their position within the new team and for some it is playing up an age group but you would never have known. Overall the boys really tried and did some great work. Jade as captain did a great job talking to the boys and showing great leadership by his endless effort. For the coach it was a great opportunity to see how the boys played and gave him great insight into the boy’s skills and what positions they are suitable for.

The boys played great but my overall pick for man of the match was Luke Engler, well done.
