Skirlaugh too strong for Beverley
In blustery conditions Beverley again got off to a slow start and never fully recovered
Skirlaugh started the game strongly and scored two quick tries before Beverley had woken up. After this initial set back though Beverley came back strongly and put some sustained pressure on Skirlaugh with Joe and Oliver both finding gaps in the Skirlaugh line. It took a well timed pass by Archie who found Alex running through a gap and sprinting over from half way to register Beverleys first try though, the try was converted by Will.
Beverley continued to put pressure on Skirlaugh with Sam, Tom and Charlie running strongly and making good yards but Beverley were unable to add to their one first half try.
The second half again started slowly for Beverley and they conceded an early try. Again though they came back and put pressure on Skirlaugh, after good runs from Kian and John, Sam went close but was held up just short. After more pressure though and on the last tackle Ted fed Will who put in a nicely weighted kick which Aaron plucked out of the air to go over under the sticks, Ryan converted the try.
As the match wore on and with no substitutes Beverley increasingly tired and Skirlaugh took advatage of some dropped ball and missed tackles to cross for three tries in the last five minutes. A disappointing end and slow start cost Beverley dearly in this match.
