History - History 1

BHASVIC has inherited the mantle of the former Brighton, Hove & Sussex Grammar School which for nearly 120 years produced many distinguished lawyers, politicians, generals, admirals, engineers, artists, musicians, sportsmen and teachers.
BHASVIC rugby has been running for over 20 years with teachers like CHris Gray running the team for several years. More recently Andy Connors took over the development of the team and in 2005-6 achieved the league 2 championship. The new strip was unvailed in 2007 which was in association with Hove rugby club. Over the last two years the BHASVIC teams has seen many talented players from all of the local clubs. Brighton, Hove, Lewes and Haywards Heath. The 2007-08 saw BHASVIC reach the final but lost out to Uckfield in a hard fought final. The 2008-09 season saw some of the best rugby played towards the end of the season. Two great games spring to mind. The last league game against CNS with some free flowing running from the backs and the semi final of the league against Worthing. A great contest played in the true spirit of BHASVIC, Without work nothing.
