Bideford make the last of their 8,800 miles on the road this season with a 500 mile round trip to Kettering this evening, for their final away game.

This game was scheduled for last Saturday (when Biddy would have been able to field a full strength squad) but was postponed late Friday night due to the home ground being deemed water-logged. Kettering had previously played the day before (Thursday) and were due to again on Monday away to Redditch Utd.

Bideford have already had to travel this week when they took on league champions Poole Town in Dorset, and this journey just two days later, will mean almost 750 miles and 15 hours on the road, during a working week - not forgetting the 3am arrive home.

After Kettering lost both of their last two games their chances of a play-off place are extremely slim and are dependent on Leamington losing against Hungerford and Weymouth not winning against Chesham. They though have to win both their remaining fixtures against Biddy this evening and away to Dorchester on Saturday.

The Robins' fate is already sealed but manager Sean Joyce is still pushing for as high a finish as possible, and anything outside the bottom two will be an amazing achievement given where the team were at the end of February. That's still possible if they win their last two games (Kettering this evening and Biggleswade at home on Saturday), and hope the Histon and Bedworth results on Saturday go our way.
