Matt Wright becomes the third Biddy player since the end of last season to cross in to Cornwall to play for Southern League Premier rivals Truro City.

Bideford manager Sean Joyce has confirmed this evening that striker Matt Wright has accepted the offer to join the White Tigers, after Truro put in a 7 day notice to approach him last week.

Wright, who is still serving a 3 match ban for his sending off in the FA Cup fixture away to Tiverton Town, will be joining his new club for this weekends home fixture against Banbury United, however will be unable to play as it will be the final game of his ban.

In a telephone conversation between the two, Matt had expressed his thanks to Sean and assistant manager Rob Dray for the enjoyable few months he has had with Bideford FC, both on and off the pitch, and was grateful for the opportunity he was given by them in making the huge step up from playing in the Southern League Div 1 with former team Tiverton.

Sean commented "Matt did everything properly and phoned me up to discuss things. Didn't expect anything less from the lad as I thought he was genuine and decent. He was given an offer he couldn't refuse which was substantially more than I can compete with, with the added bonus of a contract."

"I told him its a no brainer and not to feel anything negative about the move so early in the season. We've had 10 or so games with him since he joined this season and he's gone but we have to move on and rebuild again - something im getting used to a bit more now. If things don't work out for him at Truro he's more than welcome to come back to Biddy. That's not something I say to everyone who leaves us."
