Head Coach Pete North was voted "Coach of the Year" by Devon footballs governing body, whilst Bideford AFC Youth were awarded runners up in the Charter Standard Club Award.
"This was a real surprise and I am delighted to have been recognised in this way, we have tried to deliver something different at Bideford AFC, based on what we consider to be best practise for young players, a lot of thought has gone in to our coaching programmes across all agegroups, to make the training progressive and enjoyable" said Pete.
Under Pete's stewardship, Bideford AFC have introduced an age appropriate coaching programme which covers all areas of the game and progresses throughout the playing season. In their first season, all three of the teams enjoyed success on and off the pitch finishing well in their respective leagues.
" I wouldn't have won this award without the support of everyone else at the Club" Pete added, " We have a great team and we have some big plans and exiting developments for the future, as we introduce more agegroups".
Bideford AFC Youth were also recognised within the "Charter Standard Club" category and collected the runners up prize. The award recognised the success that has been achieved within the first year. The nomination noted the additional benefits to members and the philosphy of providing the best possible development opportunities for players.
